“EXPERTS”… I hate the term "lead magnet." It's almost as bad as "funnel."
Ebooks are the #1 best audience attracting tool ever created, because it's safer to offer a guide which sounds more helpful than a lead magnet that focuses on helping the marketer more than creating an educational product that truly helps your target audience.
The way we train people in this program to make their eBooks/Books attract their most ideal clients is first by creating simple Templates, Checklists, Google Docs, or AI Based Software Tools that relate to the eBook/Book that compell people to desire the content.
Since there are different types of learners, we then make sure that when we present the option to read the eBook/Book that it also comes with the options of audio and video, that way you are sure that the content gets consumed and that you never speak with someone who has not learned about you and who has not been presold by the value of your content first.
There is a much better way to attract an audience than to treat potential readers/customers as objects to be manipulated, and sold, sold, sold, and sold with upsells and downsells, without building real relationships by properly educating people in the right manner.
The problem is: Sleazy marketers are the ones with the microphone. It's time for us to take it back.

WILL THIS WORK FOR YOUR BUSINESS?
"Generally a lead magnet is for people who provide a service or something tangible. Lead Magnets are solely focused on services such as - coaching, consulting, teaching, training, etc. but a lead magnet can be created for B2B, B2C, Advertising, Digital Agencies, a Supplement Brand, SASS Companies, and Course Creators as well as other product based companies too."
Here's a *better* way to think about "lead magnets" than to use that term.
"Lead magnets" are a lazy way of getting people's attention in a distracted world. Lead magnets are better than nothing. But they're usually poorly done and attract the wrong people.
If you're not getting attention that you desire for your service or message -- it isn't because it's bad. It's because people are distracted, unfocused and are distrusting more than ever today.
No matter how good your service, writing or message is -- people have a million other things to do. Bosses, jobs, Facebook, Instagram, cat videos, birds outside the window ... everyone is competing for the attention of your audience.
The sleazy marketer way of getting attention uses things like "funnels" and "lead magnets." When done ethically, these things are fine. Most of the time, they're dull at best, and are done unethically, think about this, how do you really feel about someone mostly asking you for your credit card without truly providing substance in the form of “EXPERT” education and insights that work to build the relationship through live in-person and or continuous virtual online educational events.
The better way to get people's attention is to ask them to take a stand and invite them to join a community of like-minded people through live in-person or virtual online events where you take the time to educate them which puts you in the "EXPERT" Position and helps you maintain that position.

Any time you are speaking in front of your target audience, you are positioned as an expert, just like when you write an eBook.
WHICH IS A BETTER TERM THAN A LEAD MAGNET!
People tolerate "lead magnets."
People love taking a stand for something they believe -- and connecting with others on their mission. Or standing against something they dislike or even hate.
I hate sleazy marketers, but I love when people have an authentic message to share -- and are looking for better ways to attract their target audience. And though that’s very tricky today, and takes much more than just ads and events, it can be done without damaging your “EXPERT” status.
I love attracting people to a message they love, rather than dangling some overhyped carrot "lead magnet" to get people’s attention, especially one that does not even come close on delivering what they promised.
Your lead magnet “MUST” solve the pain and provide the solutions that people who opted in are looking for; not tease and titillate them to buy something else in order to get the answer they were originally looking for.
Here’s an idea that might ruffle some feathers:

Most lead magnet strategies you learn on the internet today are complete B.S.
Don’t believe me? Just look around…
How many people do you know with massive email lists, who have highly engaged, high-quality audiences, of buyers, repeat buyers, and referral buyer who have garbage lead magnets?
Think about it for a second. Go ahead, I’ll wait…Yeah, probably not so many right?
And the reason for that (one of the key reasons, at least) is that they don’t have the proper strategy to actually GET the RIGHT people on their lists in the first place.
This is why lead magnets and digital funnels ruin your “EXPERT” Status. What is “EXPERT” Status? It’s when your target audience rings your phone all day trying to get an appointment with you or are willing to wait on a waiting list to see you and only you.
But here is what you were told instead, you can make money and good money serving clients, and patients that way (1-on-1) because it’s difficult to scale to make multiple of millions or billions. So you gave up the possibility of “EXPERT” Status for the Glamour of the Gurus Superstar Methodologies.
Here’s what usually happens:
Example: Mary decides to build an email list and learns from Guru X that they need a lead magnet for this and a funnel.
She creates them based on what could be relatively appealing to her audience and runs traffic to it.
She either spends A TON of time posting on social media…
OR, spends an arm & a leg on ads trying to get as many people as possible to download that lead magnet, and join her list. All seems good so far… although very time/money intensive.
The problem begins once Mary's BIG ego realizes:
“What the hell… I have a bunch of people in my audience now…bragging about the 5,000-10,000 person email list; 50,000 – 100,000 social media followers; but they aren’t doing anything but watching videos and reading lead magnets-maybe. While still producing only a sell here and there!”
They’re just sitting there like a bunch of Looky Loos… inflating her subscriber count, but being more unresponsive than a dead fish while inflating the statistics and Mary’s ego because she’s following a gurus hype machine.
What Mary doesn’t understand, and the gurus that she’s following never are going to tell her, at least most won’t, is that the real reason they can do what they do now is because of the size of their team and their financial strength, which Mary doesn’t have at this very moment, and what the gurus don’t realize is that they are teaching from where they are at right now to all their audience, so this does not apply to someone who is not on the same level with adequate finances, staff and more.
This Is Not Good.
So what happens?
Mary spends EVEN more time and money trying to get more leads - hoping that this will solve the problem. Jumping from idea to idea, rather than pausing to realize that she is caught up in the digital matrix once again, hooked on yet another shiny object.
“It’s a numbers game, right? I need more leads… and then all will be good” - Mary thinks.
Unfortunately, it’s usually NOT what happens.
What ends up happening in most cases is that Mary burns out in the process... then right back to the next new shiny object… trying it all over again.
I see this all the time with the people I work with. Otherwise good, honest, conscientious, and heart-centered people fall into this trap over and over again.
Their lead magnets aren’t inherently designed to attract INTENT-based right-fit prospects
What does “Intent-based” mean, exactly?
People with the intention of immediately DOING something about a bleeding neck problem they have right now. This is only 3% of the market who is ready to solve their problem and buy right now.
People who don’t FULLY know that they have a bleeding neck problem yet because it’s just spotty right now and is not fully leaking yet, so they are in researching phase. This is only 97% of the market who is ready to solve their problem and buy right now if only you shown them the right presentation of the facts.
People who don’t really care that they have a bleeding neck problem because they have looked at the x-rays all wrong and need you to show them the real x-ray report. This is only 90% of the market who is not ready to solve their problem and buy right now, but might buy if only you show them the right presentation of the facts, they might be persuaded to buy.
These are 3 different psychological buying levels.
Unfortunately, most lead magnets do a terrible job at this because they fail to speak to each group specific issues, concerns, problems and most of all normal and natural behavioral patterns.
For example: Baby Boomers, Generation X, and Millennials do NOT think or behave the same… yet so many marketers are still attempting to market to them all with the same exact messages, that no longer works. A whopping 87% of baby boomers still prefer to shop in store rather than online, but the hype masters are still convincing you to try to reach the most affluent and financially strong segment of the market online… these are not their normal and natural behavioral patterns.
So what can you do? Simple:
Attracting your best-fit prospects is not about just using Ideal Customer Avatars that only draws suspects; your research must go deeper, wider, and broader in order to get prosects.
